Summer in San Francisco actually starts in September! The weather can be windy and chilly, especially by the beach - it's best to dress in multiple layers and bring a light jacket. Wear athletic and/or comfortable, sturdy walking shoes. There is a parking lot by the picnic area. Banners, signs and anything orange are always welcome!
There will be no direct BART service to/from the East Bay to SF on 8/2. Click here for additional information.
For those coming from out of town, there's a lot to see, do and eat in San Francisco. Click here for suggestions. Tours to Alcatraz usually sell out quickly, click here to buy advance tickets. Some recommendations from the SF Bay Illini Club include the Ferry Building, checking out a Giants game, or a day trip to the Napa Valley wine country or Monterey.
